The boy who loved Christmas

Spencer loves Christmas. Really, really, REALLY loves Christmas. We noticed it last year when he left little "presents" under the tree at school for Santa (these were balled up pieces of colored paper, but it's the thought that counts). He was concerned that no one was bringing Santa anything even though Santa brings things to everyone else. Sadly, this year seems to mostly be about what he will GET for Christmas. He told me that Santa takes care of all the giving so he doesn't have to worry about it.

Spencer has been begging us to get out the Christmas decorations since before Thanksgiving. We would have done it this weekend, but we had plumbing issues in the front yard that took up the whole weekend. So tonight Alan got a box out. The Christmas and winter books were a huge hit with both of them, as was the Little People nativity set. And as of this moment, Spencer is in bed with a stuffed Christmas tree pillow that he says is his best friend. It doesn't have any other friends and it can turn into a rocket. The rocket part is what's preventing him from sleeping, I think.
